Em sua história o Oshibori era operado apenas para convidou nobres no período Edo, porém há era um costume lá na era Heian. Em 1600 as casas de chá começaram a oferecer o Oshibori e isso se tornou um gesto padrão de hospitalidade para os estabelecimentos japoneses, e assim essa cultura se espalhou pelo resto do país. ⛩⠀⠀

As toalhas têm a função apenas de higienizarmos as mãos, contudo no inverno elas são úmidas e quentinhas para nos dar uma sensação relaxante, já no verão elas são geladas para nos refrescar. 🥵🥶⠀
